Attended Safeguarding and Protecting Children Coach Course

Glenn Karpel attended the Sports Coach UK course on safeguarding & protecting children at the Solent University on Saturday 16th May. This is to position ourselves to offer a dedicated Childrens and Young People class (under 18′s). We have had a number of enquiries about this and feel it is appropriate to consider setting up an under 18′s class this year.

An NSPCC children incident report form has been uploaded for club use.

Martial Arts Training for Prison Officers and Police Officers

Some of our club’s members are Prison Officers, and we’ve had Police Officers as members in the past, too.

Aikido techniques have similarities with “Control and Restraint” techniques, and it can provide greater skills and techniques than a one day C&R course allows.

We welcome officers and staff from HM Feltham, Wandsworth, Bronzefield and other local prisons, as well as the Metropolitan and Surrey Police Services, who wish to train in a martial art. By the way, you don’t need to tell us your profession, if you don’t want to.
