You can' teach a kid aikido from a book
David Sandler wrote a book called "You can't teach a kid to ride a bike at a seminar", in which he explained that do be a better salesman you had to go out and DO better sellling.

When it comes to aikido, it's also something you just have to get up and DO, in order to start to appreciate it. Even then, it will take a few months before it starts to make sense.

It's tempting to try and intellectualise a technique, but sometimes that can be a barrier to understanding it. Over time, patterns and relationships start to emerge. You get to see the context. However, that doesn't happen overnight.
